It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William Aaron-Todd Prins, affectionately known as Liam, who left this world on April 23, 2026, in Grove, Oklahoma. Born on March 31, 2013, in Miami, Oklahoma, Liam was a bright and spirited 6th grade student at Grove Middle School, where he was known not only for his academic diligence but also for his vibrant participation in music and sports.
Liam passionately played the trombone in the school band and was an enthusiastic football player, embodying the lively spirit and camaraderie of youth. He enjoyed video games and music, interests that were a significant part of his daily life and joy. One of his favorite parts of the week was Wednesday night dinners with his cousins Vanessa, Hagen, and Livvy—simple nights full of food, laughter, and time together that meant so much to him. A devoted Christian, Liam's faith was a central pillar in his life and in the hearts of those who loved him.
His premature departure is a heartbreaking loss. The community and all who knew Liam mourn his absence deeply, remembering him for his kindness, his talents, and his youthful promise.
Liam is survived by his loving father, Todd Prins, and his partner Summer; his mother, Samantha Martins and partner Joshua Trevett; and his siblings Jayleigh Prins, Bentli Prins, Madeline Martins, Jackson Prins, and Nicholas Martins. He is also fondly remembered by his aunts, Missy Skaggs, Rebecca Moye, Joyce Moye, and Julie (Michael) Coppedge, and his uncles John Moye (Carol), Sam Moye, Garry (Shannon) Pitman, Jacob (Ashley) Pitman, Joel Pitman, and Reuben Pitman, and his “Papa” Randy Prins, as well as Cathy Trevett “Nonna”.
Liam was preceded in death by his grandparents Paula Denise Prins, Harold and Ylana Moye, along with his uncle Larry Moye.
A funeral service to celebrate Liam’s life will be held on May 4, 2026, at Grove’s First Baptist Church, located at 501 E 13th St, Grove, Oklahoma. The service will begin at 2:00 pm and conclude at 3:00 pm.
In this time of mourning, the community and all who knew William "Liam" Prins come together to support his family, honor his memory, and hold fast to the light he brought into their lives during his too-brief time with us. He will be remembered as a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend—a young soul who touched many hearts and who will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Grove Public Library (1140 NEO Loop, Grove, OK 74344) in honor of Liam’s thirst for knowledge or Grove Animal Shelter (C/O City of Grove 104 W 3rd, Grove, OK 74344) as he never met an animal he didn’t love.
