Ruth Jean Maness, age 91, passed away on April 8, 2024, in Grove, Oklahoma. She was born on October 14, 1932, in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Ruth's life was characterized by her unwavering faith, commitment to serving others, and a devoted Christian. Ruth’s missionary work in south Texas touched the lives of many and left a lasting impact on the community. Ruth's kind and compassionate personality shone through in all aspects of her life.
One of Ruth's proudest accomplishments was her participation in the Senior Olympics, where she competed in running events and excelled in throwing shot put and discus. Her dedication to staying active and engaged was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Ruth found joy in being active in her RV park community as part of the welcome committee. Her warmth and friendliness made newcomers feel at home and welcomed.
Ruth Jean Maness is survived by her children Vickie Capps, Judy Rhoten, David Capps, and Brenda Capps; her brother Joe Waddell; as well as 16 grandchildren; Steven Gaddy, Aaron Gaddy, Allena Shannon, Charity Breener, Donivan Rhoten, Joshua Rhoten, Kristina Lipford, Megan Dietrich, Aimie Trussell, Kaci Zachrau, Lyndsey Capps, Stacey Paciorek, Heather Burch, Jason Ramsey, Ashley Ramsey, and Jake Ramsey, 44 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Wendell Maness.
The family will gather at a later date to lay Ruth to rest in Macedonia Cemetery in Stella, Missouri. Ruth will be fondly remembered for her selfless nature, strong faith, and love for her family. Her legacy of kindness and service will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in peace knowing that she touched countless lives with her grace and compassion.
