Rudney Round

Rudney Ray Round, 74 year old resident of Jay, Oklahoma, passed away on July 25, 2021 at the Veterans Hospital in Claremore, Oklahoma.

Rudney was born on November 19, 1946 in Ponca City, Oklahoma.  He was the son of Harold and Betty (Wieland) Round.  Rudney served in the United States Army from June 1966 to February 1969, and was proud to be a Vietnam Veteran.  He worked many years as a lineman for the City of Miami and Northeast Oklahoma Electric Company.  Rudney always stayed busy from taking care of his cattle, shoeing horses, building fences, and taking care of the land.  He enjoyed going to horse sales, mule sales, and draft horse sales. Rudney never met a stranger and could carry on a conversation with just about anyone. He enjoyed a good steak dinner, a good piece of pecan pie and watching all the old western shows.  He attended Zena Baptist Church.

Rudney is survived by his two children: Cathy Rutherford and husband Rodney and Ruston Round and wife Kendra. He was blessed with three grandchildren: Kayden and Maddie Rutherford and Roman Round.  He will be dearly missed by his two brothers: Cody Round and Tab Round and wife Peggy.
