Roy Leslie Johnson, 62-year-old Grove resident, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022.

"Les" was born on March 8.1960, to Charles and Winnie (Tanner)Johnson. He served in the U.S. Army from 1978-1984 as a Supply Sergeant.  Upon discharge he worked as a Union Pressman for the Wichita Eagle Beacon for several years.

His greatest title was “G-pa" to his three grandchildren.

Les was talented in a variety of things.  He attended NEO and OSU.

He did silversmithing, gunsmithing, and even made pottery. He enjoyed being outside and staying busy, on his own terms. He also was a major music lover and enjoyed making others laugh.

Survivors include his son Jeremiah Johnson of Olathe, KS and daughter LeAnn Stowell and husband Sean of Grove, brothers: David Johnson and wife Anita of Chickasaw and John Johnson and wife Shannon of Grove, and grandchildren: Jack Stowell, Finn Stowell, and Hadley Johnson.

Nephew: Preston, Nieces: Amanda and Alyssa.  Great Nephew Owen, Great nieces Elise and Irena.

He is preceded in death by his parents, many aunts and uncles and best friend Dean.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma.  Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Piney Cemetery in Jay, Oklahoma.
