Obituary

In loving memory of Roy George Jalbert.

Roy George Jalbert, 76, passed away peacefully at home on October 10, 2026, surrounded by the comfort of home and the memories of a life well lived.

Roy was a proud Vietnam veteran who served honorably in the United States Army from 1968 to 1971. During his service, he demonstrated extraordinary courage and bravery, earning two Bronze Star Medals for his selfless actions during combat that helped save many lives. His courage, dedication, and commitment to serving others were a testament to the man he was, both in uniform and throughout his life.

Beyond his military service, Roy’s greatest pride and joy were his family and the relationships he built along the way. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved his family deeply. Roy had a special gift for making people feel welcome. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand, give generously, or put someone else’s need before his own. His kindness, selflessness and warm spirit touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity and quiet strength.

Roy will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lynda; his stepson Andrew; his daughter, Becky; her husband Kevin; granddaughter, Alyssa, and her husband, Rob; and his newest great-granddaughter, who brought another special blessing to his family. He is also survived by his sister, Debbie; his nieces, Karen and Kathy; and his nephew, Terri, along with other family members and loved ones who will cherish him forever.

A service of military honors will be held at the Springfield, Missouri National Cemetery at a later date.
