In Loving Memory of
“Papa Smurf”
Paul Edward Pierce February 26, 1941 – October 15, 2025
Paul Edward Pierce, born February 26, 1941, in Worcester, Massachusetts, to Louis Rowson Pierce and Barbara Pierce (Pond), passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Paul dedicated 35 years of service to United Airlines as a Ramp Service Man, where he was known for his strong work ethic and warm spirit. After retiring, he continued to stay active, lending his handyman skills to building decks and helping neighbors—always the first to offer a hand or a tool.
A man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, Paul loved traveling, cruising, and camping. He was never happier than when surrounded by family and friends. And if you weren’t a friend when you met him, one conversation was usually all it took—Paul had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcome.
He proudly served in the National Guard, and from those days forward, remained the family’s beloved chef—his cooking was legendary and always made with love.
Paul never missed an opportunity to try his luck at the craps table—he never met one he didn’t like.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marge Pierce; his daughter, Jennifer Goulart; his son, Matt Santos; and his brother, Frank Pierce. He also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless friends whose lives he touched deeply.
Paul will be remembered for his generosity, his humor, his stories, and most of all, his heart. He will be dearly missed and forever loved.
