Melinda Matthews

Melinda Arlene (Thomas) Matthews, 41 of Claremore, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022.  Melinda was born in Fayetteville, AR on April 18, 1980, to Clyde and Myrtle (Stephens) Thomas.  She graduated from Jay High School in 1999.  She later attended Northeastern State University, and then earned her EMT certification from OSU Technical.  On July 14, 2008, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Brad Matthews.  She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and playing video games. She also enjoyed attending comic shows with her husband. She was saved, and   she gained her heavenly body Sunday, February 6th 2022.

Survivors include her husband Brad Matthews, parents Clyde and Myrtle Thomas, sisters Sharon Kunze and husband DJ and Christina Thomas and fiancé Brandon Curry, and one brother Cody Thomas, in-laws Larry and Patricia Matthews, and brother in-laws Andrew and Liz Matthews Courtney L. Matthews and Courtney Matthews, as well as Brooke, Ethan, and Declan Thomas, and Camden, Grantley, and Bryant Matthews her niece and nephews.  She is preceded in death by grandparents John and Ellen Stephens and Carol and Nancy Thomas.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the Worley Luginbuel Chapel in Jay.  Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Friday, February 18, 2022, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Jay.
