Lonnie Dean Stroud, born on April 21, 1965, in Torrence, California, passed away on July 7, 2026. He was the beloved son of Donna Stroud, whom he cherished deeply and cared for with great pride. One of Lonnie’s greatest joys in life was looking after his mother, ensuring her comfort and happiness at every turn. Their close bond was evident in the simple pleasures they shared, such as taking scenic drives together or visiting casinos.

Lonnie’s love extended beyond people to the pets that brightened his days, especially his loyal dog Peanut. He loved his job at Haskell University where he worked as the Director of Activities. Through his job, he enjoyed meeting new people, making new friends, and organizing Pow Wows.

He is survived by his brother, Darin James “DJ” Stroud. Ever the caring uncle, Lonnie took delight in the lives and accomplishments of his nephews, Tyler and Tanner Stroud, and his niece Taesi Stroud. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law Denise Stroud, cousins, Greg Conner and Denise Petty and will be greatly missed by his friends Tony and Judy, and Todd Muth. Family gatherings were special to Lonnie, who always made those around him feel supported and loved.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Stroud, his brother Johnny Stroud, and his friend Gary, whom he always held close in his memories.

A memorial service to honor Lonnie’s life will be held on July 15, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, located at 711 S Main St, Grove, OK 74344. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Lonnie’s life are welcome to attend and celebrate his memory.
