Linda T. Elmburg passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 19, 2026. She was steadfast in her wish to remain on her beloved ranch, and she left this world exactly as she had hoped—at home, surrounded by the life she cherished.

Linda Susan Twiss was born on October 16, 1944, in Pensacola, Florida, to Frank and Peggy Twiss.

She spent her early years in Omaha, where she attended Westside High School. An A student, she was admitted to the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she became a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. It was there she met Cy, who was working as a waiter for the sorority—beginning a lifelong partnership that would span nearly 60 years.

The couple later made their home in Miami, Oklahoma. Linda devoted herself to her family, supporting her husband’s entrepreneurial endeavors while raising their two sons. She was deeply involved in her community, giving her time and energy to the Presbyterian Church, Cub Scouts, Friends of the Library, Meals on Wheels, the Miami Public Schools Boosters, Junior Golf, and many other organizations. She was also member of Daughters of the American Revolution.

Linda formed many lifelong friendships and especially treasured her Wednesday Bridge Group, which remained a constant in her life for more than 50 years.

In the middle and later years of her life, Linda took on a central role in managing the family ranch, Woody Crest Farm near Grand Lake, Oklahoma. There, she quickly developed expertise in both the Arabian horse and Angus cattle businesses. Her passion and dedication led her to compete nationally with Arabian horses, and she built an Angus herd recognized for its exceptional quality.

Linda was known for her intelligence, kindness, love of nature, and her calm way of being. She always kept a vibrant garden, filled her home with plants and animals, and carried a deep sense of patriotism. More than anything, she wanted to create a true home—warm, welcoming, and comfortable for everyone who entered. She found joy in gardening, reading, traveling, caring for animals, and sharing meals and laughter with friends.

A strong and deeply individual soul, Linda made a quiet yet profound impact on everyone around her. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, John R. “Cy” Elmburg; her two sons, Robert Elmburg and Eric Elmburg; and her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert and his wife, Rana, have three daughters: Emily Christner (married to Joel Christner), who recently welcomed a daughter, Ellis; Elle Elmburg; and Evy Elmburg. Eric and his wife, Leeann, have five children—Owen, Cyrus, and Ana Elmburg—as well as, Luke and Jack Marcie.
