Kevin Dean Meier departed this life unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the age of 71. He was born January 7, 1955, in Greeley Colorado to Les and Shirley Meier.

Kevin was a master plumber by trade and a master “fixer of anything” by nature. If something was broken, he could almost always find a way to repair it – often with a little more than duct tape and ingenuity.

Having spent most of his life in northern Colorado, Kevin found joy in the outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling and even water skiing…creating countless memories with his family and lifelong friends.

Almost a decade ago, Kevin and his wife, Gayla, moved to the Grove/Jay Oklahoma area, where they built a wonderful life together. They enjoyed caring for their property, spending time with family, and faithfully serving and participating in their church community.

Kevin’s greatest joy in life was his love for his family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer advice, or simply spend time with those he loved.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Gayla Meier. His children, Jessie Meier-Jones (Mike Jones), Ben Meier (Leslie Meier), Kelly Werning (Tim Werning), Jory Cagulada (Kahanu Cagulada), his sisters Pam Mcgee and Rainene Miller, his brother Michael Meier, and six grandchildren, including Maxton Dean, Nathan, Brooklyn, Trip, Harper, and Gemma.

He is preceded in death by his father, Leslie Meier, and his mother Shirley Meier.

Kevin’s legacy lives on in his stories, the things he built and repaired, the adventures he shared and the love he gave to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.

A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held on August 29, 2026 from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Butler Baptist Church, 64990 E 335 Rd, Jay, OK.

Family and friends are invited to join us as we remember Kevin. Come as you are, bring your favorite memories and stories of Kevin, and help us celebrate his life that was filled with family, friendships and outdoor adventures.

Light refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall following this informal service.
