Johnnie Francis Pryor, Jr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 10, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 68. Born on October 23, 1956, in Pittsburg, Kansas, Johnnie's legacy will live on through the love he shared and the lives he touched.
Johnnie dedicated much of his life to the noble profession of newspaper delivery, where he fostered connections with the community that extended far beyond simple transactions.
Outside of his career, Johnnie was known for his vibrant personality and diverse interests. He found joy in building model cars and houses, and he had a particular fondness for watching firetrucks and cop shows. A storyteller at heart, he was never short of jokes, often spreading laughter and joy to those around him. The timeless tunes of George Strait and Garth Brooks filled his life with comfort and joy.
Johnnie is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy (Spencer) Pryor, his children: Kimberly Voss (Chad), Travis Gideon, Travis Pryor, and Brian Pryor (Heather). He also leaves behind a loving family of grandchildren: Codee Langford, Haston Cooksey, Johnnie Gideon, Christina Gideon, Breanna Gideon, Jeremiah Gideon, Bailey Pryor, Katelynn Pryor, and Noah Pryor, as well as two great-grandchildren, Avianna Turner and Ella Mae Ward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie F. Pryor, Sr. and Betty Allene (Johns) Pryor, and a son, Billy Pryor.
A Celebration of Life for Johnnie F. Pryor, Jr. will be held on August 18, 2025, at Candlewyck Cove Resort-Grand Lake in Grove, Oklahoma, starting at 1:30 PM. His family invites all who knew him to come together to honor and remember a remarkable man who made a lasting impact on their lives.
