James Green

James Leroy “Jim” Green, 95, of Bartlesville, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 5, 2019 at the Journey Home Hospice House.

Jim was born January 22, 1924 at Wetumka, Oklahoma to Frank Green and Nancy E. (Little) Green.   He grew up in Maud, Oklahoma and was a graduate of Maud High School.  Before he graduated, Jim was drafted into the U.S. Army and served as a corporal in the European Theater during World War II.

On March 24, 1947, he married the love of his life, CoElla M. Love at Pawhuska, Oklahoma.  The Greens made their home in Pawhuska until moving to Bartlesville in 1971, and had most recently been a resident of Tall Grass Estates.  Jim retired in 1989, after 23 years as financial manager with the Department of Energy.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and East Cross Methodist Church and a former member of Oak Park Baptist Church.

Jim is survived by his children, Shelia Watkins and her husband, Bill of Porter, Oklahoma, Jimmy Green and his wife, Lilith of Porter, Deborah Jones and her husband, Walter of Claremore, Oklahoma and Brad Green and his wife, Margie of Bartlesville; one sister, Wanda George of Bartlesville; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife, CoElla; by his parents, Frank & Nancy Green; three brothers, John, Dan and Fred Green and by two sisters, Willie Mae Burton and Carmelita Bond.

Funeral services will be 10 am, Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at East Cross United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Burress, officiating.  Interment will be in Bartlesville Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.  Military rites will take place at the graveside.  Visitation for Jim Green will be Saturday, 1-6 pm; Sunday 1-6 pm and Monday 9am – 7pm.  Family will receive friends at Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, Monday, 5-7pm.
