Helen Barbara “Pegge” White passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021. Pegge was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa on May 2, 1924 to John Alton Hoar and Nell (Bennett) Hoar. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School and attended Penn College. On June 24, 1944 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jack White.
Pegge was always an active member of the church, teaching Sunday School and youth activities, participating in many areas of church functions at Boulevard Christian in Muskogee, First Christian in Chouteau, First Christian in Grove, Christview Christian in Tulsa, and College Heights Christian in Joplin.
She worked for the John Deere Chemical company, later Nipak, in Pryor for several years and then worked at the family business, Stewart White and Associates in Tulsa, until her retirement. In her retirement she moved to Grove then Spring River Christian Village in Joplin, MO after her husband’s death in 2013. Pegge spent her final years at the home of a granddaughter in Oronogo, MO where she passed away. She loved knitting, bowling, and buying gifts for everyone she knew.
Survivors include her daughters: Sheryl Goforth and husband Bob and Jacquelyn Orsack and husband Gene 7 grandchildren: Rene, Katie, Staci, Cathy, Keri, Sharilyn, and Michael, 19 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, 4 sisters, and 4 brothers.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Olympus North Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.honorngmemories.com.
