Gretchen Ann Deighton

Gretchen Ann Deighton, age 66, passed away on April 23, 2026, in Grove, Oklahoma. She was born on September 6, 1959, in Great Bend, Kansas, and was known throughout her life for her gentle heart, strong faith, and deep love for family.

Gretchen spent many years working at Walmart as a stocker, where she took pride in her work and was valued for her reliability and attention to detail. She was a devoted Christian, and her faith quietly guided the way she lived and cared for others.

Those who knew Gretchen remember her love for animals, especially dogs, and the joy she found in caring for them. She loved being outdoors—fishing, spending time by the water, and soaking in the peace of lake life. Her happiest memories were often tied to the lake, particularly Grand Lake, which held a special place in her heart.

Gretchen had a way of looking after everyone around her, always making sure others were cared for before herself. She was kind, thoughtful, and hopeful, with a gentle sense of humor and dreams she never let go of. Her family remembers her as someone who showed love through quiet acts of care and constant concern for those she loved.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Mark Deighton; her sons, Jason Rugan and wife Stacy, and Scott Rugan; her brother, Vince Luebbers; her sister, Tina Caldwell; and her cherished grandson, Zeke Rugan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norbert and Ann Luebbers, and her brother, Paul Luebbers.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 1, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. A brief visitation will be held an hour prior to services.

Gretchen will be remembered for her kind spirit, loving heart, and the quiet way she made life better for those around her. She will be deeply missed.

A come-and-go visitation will be held at the Worley Chapel from 3 pm to 5 pm on Thursday, April 30, 2026, and her services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026
