Frankie Rae Price, age 75, passed away on June 16, 2021, at Grandwood Assisted Living Center in Grove, Oklahoma.
Frankie was born on July 25, 1945, in Dodge City, Kansas. She was the loving daughter of Thomas Morgan Lane and Lorraine Florance (Copeland) Lane. Frankie earned her Bachelor’s degree from Saint Mary’s of the Planes and Dodge city Kansas, majoring in social services, criminal justice and physiology. Frankie worked and retired from the State of Kansas devoting her life as a social worker to the protection and well-being of children. Throughout her career, Frankie was a foster mother to over 250 children, some of whom are still part of her family.
Frankie claimed that the best times in her life were in activities with the kids. “God has played an active role in my life and given me many gifts. My experiences with the foster kids and adopted children have helped me more during my life than the college degrees. Being a positive Foster parent was a way to show God my appreciation.”
Frankie moved to Grove in 2006 after the passing of her son Jimmie. She was a master gardener and took great pride in making Lee’s Resort beautiful during the time that she lived there.
Frankie was preceded in death by her parents, two infant sons: Larry Lane Price and Larry William Price, her son Jimmie Price. She is survived by her daughter in law Mindy Price of Grove, Oklahoma, her daughter Wanda Price and husband Greg of Mullinville, Kansas, her son Gary Price of Dodge City, Kansas, her brother Tom Lane and wife Shawna of Dodge City, Kansas, and her sister Shaleh Lewis of Texas. Frankie was blessed with eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 7:30 PM, Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Lee’s Resort in Grove, Oklahoma.
