Faye Taffner

Myrtle Faye Taffner (Brokaw), 86, of Fairland, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 15, 2026, at her daughter’s home in West Fork, Arkansas, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 9, 1940, in Tiff City, Oklahoma, to the late Aaron and Stella Mae Brokaw. Faye graduated from Fairland High School and was a devoted member of Foundation Church.

On June 18, 1957, she married the love of her life, Everett “Sonny” Taffner. Together they shared 69 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered around faith, family, and love. Together they raised four children and opened their home and hearts to many others throughout the years.

Faye was a talented and hardworking woman whose hands were rarely still. Over the years, she worked in garment manufacturing helping produce blue jeans, crafted boat covers, upholstered furniture, and provided clothing alterations for many families throughout the Grove area. She later retired from Grand Savings Bank in Grove. Faye also enjoyed creating handcrafted items and proudly sold her work at local craft fairs.

She is survived by her children: Bernardine (Don) Drummond, Merl (Cindy) Taffner, Chris Taffner, and Eugene (Jennifer) Taffner; 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-great-grandchildren, spanning six generations.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Stella Brokaw; her sister, Doris Brokaw; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at the Worley Luginbuel Chapel.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, May 21, 2026 also at the Worley Luginbuel Chapel.  Interment will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
