Grove, Oklahoma Douglas Wayne Noel (64), of Grove Oklahoma passed away on July 22nd , 2021, at his home on Grand Lake after a short illness.

Douglas was born in Parsons, KS in 1957 to Claude and Ruthanna Noel. Doug was the second of four children: Claudia Ann Maxwell (Noel), Dayton Scott Noel, and Cecily Kay Noel-Mahan. When Doug was 9 years old, he and his family moved to Joplin Mo, which remained his home for many years. Doug was a 1975 graduate from Parkwood High School in Joplin. After high school, Doug purchased a motorcycle and set off on many adventures. He was always drawn to water, so he spent many years on the beaches in Daytona and Jacksonville, Florida. After having various occupations in Florida, Tennessee, and Texas, Doug migrated back to Joplin where he sought employment at General Mills, serving as a line supervisor for 23 years. Doug recently retired from General Mills in 2019, making his home in Grove Oklahoma.

Survivors include his sister, Cecily Kay Noel-Mahan of Overland Park, KS, two adopted brothers; Devin Noel (Crystal Noel) of Diamond, MO, Scott Noel-Barker (Cassidy Barker) of Webb City, several nieces and nephews, cousins, and his best friend in the world, Huey Carrico of Joplin, MO. Douglas was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Claudia, and his brother Dayton. Douglas was a free spirit and loved water and the ocean. Earlier in his life, he was active with riding his motorcycle, spending time with friends, fishing, playing pool, and golfing. Some of his best memories was spending time with his friends. He could tell a remarkable story and was a generous and loving person. He will be greatly missed by his surviving family.

A private grave side service will be held for Doug at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri on Thursday, July 29th, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., where he will be laid to rest near his family. Funeral services are being provided by Worley Funeral Home of Grove, Oklahoma.
