Dewey Autry

Dewey Lee Autry, age 71, Eucha, OK. passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 in Joplin, MO.

He was born in Tulsa, OK. to Gladys Velderg Randolph Autry and the late William Columbus Autry. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Veronica Autry.

Dewey served in the United States Navy. He then owned and operated A-1 Muffler, in both Grove and Jay. Memberships were held in the Masonic Lodge in Conroe, TX. He loved to hunt and fish an avid wood worker making many pieces of furniture for all his family and friends. Dewey was known for having a tough exterior but a big and caring heart for all that knew him. He was the type of guy that would give his last dime to any person in need.

Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home; mother, Velderg Autry; four sons, Jeff Autry, and wife, Amanda, Strang, OK, Tracy Autry, and wife, Kari, Ketchum, Jonathon Autry, and wife, Katie, Eucha, and Jerry Dale Miller; three daughters, Stephanie Calugar, and husband, David Jacksonville, FL, Dawn Autry, Pensacola, OK, and Beverly Havens and husband, Rick; two brothers, Kenny Autry, and wife, Donna, and Steve Autry both of Jay, OK; twenty two  grandchildren, Tiffany Lewis, Krista Deshayes, Travis Durham, McKenzie Durham, Gerald Christopher Miller, Aaron Augustine Miller, Dana Nicole Miller, Benjamin Nicholas Calugar, Anna Lynn Calugar, David Stephen Calugar, Casey Lynn Greene, Christopher James Autry, Shane David Autry, Lily Isabella Autry, Tristan James Autry, Hunter lee Autry, Lacy Kay Autry, Eron Dovnavon Powell, Tristen Augustus Autry, Kalynn Dawn Marie Burton, Adaline Lee Autry, and Gabriel River Autry; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 15, 2021 at the 1st Assembly of God Church, Jay, OK. Pastor Robert Lokey will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Cremation will follow.
