Dawna L. Scott

Dawna L. Scott, dedicated wife and loving Mother, peacefully transitioned to her new home with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 12, 2023, at Ascension St. John in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on December 3, 1935, in Fort Gay, West Virginia to Mart and Lydia Branham.

Dawna led a fulfilling life with career achievements and cherished relationships. She was a dedicated accountant with the Federal Aviation Administration and retired from the FAA. 

Outside of work, Dawna enjoyed serving in church and the community. Interests that brought her joy were knitting, crocheting, sewing, crafting, and gardening - growing delicious vegetables, she definitely had a green thumb. Dawna loved shopping with her daughter, sisters and friends.  Music also held a special place in Dawna's heart; she played piano and sang with her three sisters. She loved to travel, thankful that she traveled to all 50 states as well as her beloved Israel. 

Dawna was united in a beautiful covenant marriage to Jack Scott, married on December 23, 1956. Their love stood the test of time, as they celebrated 66 ½ years of marriage; a testament to their commitment to God and each other. 

Dawna is survived by her loving husband, Jack Scott, and will be missed by her children; daughter, Dana Scott, son, Barry Scott, foster daughter, Teresa Cordasco, spiritual granddaughter, Abigail Friend, and sisters, Jarilee Lowe and Patricia Gerwe. Preceded in death were family members, son, John Evans, and sister, Goldie Eulett.

Dawna was a strong woman of God, leaving a beautiful legacy of faith, love, devotion, integrity and loyalty. Her kind heart and unwavering commitment to family and love of people impacted countless lives. As we bid farewell, for now, to this remarkable woman, let us remember the joy she deposited into our lives.
