Dakota Ray Green, 29, a dedicated member of the Grove Fire Department and an employee of the Oklahoma Forestry Department, has sadly passed away on September 6, 2023, Dakota was born on April 2, 1994, in Grove, Oklahoma.  The devastating loss of such a compassionate soul has sent shockwaves throughout the community.

Dakota was known for his kindheartedness, willingness to lend a helping hand, and his ability to bring laughter into the lives of those around him.

Dakota graduated Leflore High School, where he not only excelled academically but also showcased his talent on the baseball field and worked at the local stockyards where he was always up to some sort of shenanigans with his friends.

After graduating from high school, Dakota pursued his dream of becoming a U.S. Marine. His unwavering dedication and desire to serve his country exemplified his strong character and commitment. Dakota's time in the military forged him into an individual who possessed discipline and integrity.

When Dakota was not fighting fires with his fellow Grove firefighters, he was proudly working alongside his fellow Oklahoma Forestry Services men and women. Dakota loved serving the people of Grove and of Delaware County. As often as he could, he would work out of state to help others in need of protecting their families and property.  Dakota lived life to the fullest, spending quality time with his fiancée Indya, family and friends who meant the world to him. From dancing to singing karaoke together or spending time around the bonfire, every moment spent with loved ones was cherished dearly by Dakota. He had a deep appreciation for big trucks, anything diesel-related, and had a great passion for hunting.

Dakota Ray Green is survived by his parents Angela and Jeff Glenn, his father Ray Green of Leflore, OK. and his fiancée Indya Hight mourns the loss of her soulmate—a bond that time cannot erase, and her parents Dan and Tracy Hight.  Additionally, he leaves behind his grandparents Norman and Lee Law who adored him dearly. He also leaves behind his brothers Ray Green, and Daniel Green, Sister-in-law Lexi Green, his niece Lily Green, aunts and uncles, Kris Law, Carrie Law, Johnathan Law, Riley Law, Ryan Law, Krystal Law, Allen Law, Amanda Payne, Andrea Irwin, Audrea Irwin, each holding dear the moments shared with him.
