Christi Lynn Nelson

Christi Lynn Nelson, a beloved wife, mother, and daughter, passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2026, at the age of 53. Born on January 18, 1973, in Jay, Christi touched countless lives with her kindness, warmth, and generous spirit.

Christi worked for many years in the automotive department at Walmart, where she was well known for her strong work ethic, professionalism, and genuine care for both coworkers and customers. A proud graduate of Grove High School, Class of 1992, she carried lifelong pride in her roots and community.

Family was the center of Christi’s life. She cherished time spent fishing, hunting, and creating memories with loved ones, and she especially enjoyed cheering on the University of Oklahoma during football season. Christi is survived by her devoted husband of 34 years, Peter Nelson; their son, Colby Nelson; her father, Jerry Lee Brixey and wife Julie; her mother, Carol Owens-Hilton and husband Andy; and many extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Steven Brixey. Christi will be remembered for her loving heart, joyful presence, and unwavering devotion to family.

Gravesides services will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Zena Cemetery.
