Charles Ray Duke, Jr., born on January 8, 1959, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, in Grove, Oklahoma. He was a dedicated fire hydrant mechanic whose commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family and community.
Charles lived a full and active life, enjoying many hobbies and the people he loved most. He was an excellent pool player, loved fishing with his grandchildren, and treasured road trips with his daughter, Destini. Sundays were always set aside for family, a tradition he held dear. Charles was also an enthusiastic football fan and enjoyed playing sports outdoors with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Tyler-Duke; his children, Charles Ray Duke III, Penny Andrews and husband Joseph, and Tresey Duke; and eight grandchildren: Braiden Andrews, Braxton Andrews, Nevaeh Duke, Destini Andrews, Logan Gordy, Bentley Duke, Jaxon Willis, and Harmoni Willis. He also had three honorary sons—Preston Walker, Andrew Walker, and Justin Pigeon—and honorary grandchildren Dara Johnson and Destiny Young. He shared a close bond with his sisters, Connie Raborn and Sharlene Dearman, and cared deeply for his many nieces and nephews. He was grateful for the presence of his father-in-law, Albert Palmer.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles R. Duke Sr. and Patsy R. (Griggs) Duke; his mother-in-law, Barbara Palmer; and his brothers-in-law, Jasper Raborn Sr. and Carl Dearman Sr.
