Booth Preston Smith, Jr., passed away on August 10, 2026, in Grove, Oklahoma. Born on June 6, 1948, in Hamilton, Montana, Booth's life was one defined by service, resilience, and dedication to his family and community. And the foundation of faith that he laid for his family.

Booth’s early years in Montana shaped his spirit of adventure and resolve. As a Smoke Jumper in Montana, he exemplified courage and commitment to the safety of others. His sense of duty continued as he faithfully served in the Army National Guard for six years, during which he also completed strenuous S.E.R.E. training—an accomplishment that spoke to his perseverance and determination.

A man whose hands shaped both his destiny and the places his family called home, Booth worked in construction, building several homes for those he loved. His professional journey also led him to work as a Loan Officer. His personal integrity and sincerity left a positive impact on all who came to know him.

Booth found joy in life’s simpler pleasures, especially playing card games, and he was known for his love of poker. His life with his family in Oklahoma was marked by quail hunts, impromptu meals at his mother's Ranch Resort and Sunday services and fellowship.

Booth’s legacy is most visible in the broad network of loved ones he leaves behind. He is survived by sons Reid Smith (Stephanie), Josh Smith (Cindy), Booth Smith III, and Noah Godsson; daughters Sarah Tuana and Faith Smith (Ezequiel Romero); brother Dwight Smith; and his sisters, Sandy Smith, and Delores De La Portia. Booth was preceded in death by his father Booth Smith and mother Marjorie Smith.
