Betty J. Stone, age 77, passed away peacefully with her surviving children and some grandchildren at her bedside on September 1, 2021 at Integris Hospital in Miami, Oklahoma.
Betty was born on July 22, 1944 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Frank and Lillian Elliott, where they lived until she was a young lady. Betty worked at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma as a custodian until she retired in 1996. Betty loved gardening and working in her yard. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino. She also enjoyed going to garage sales and flea markets. She adored her beloved pet, Rosa.
Left to grieve her are her five daughters and their spouses; Tina Russell and Rod Bouman of Disney, OK, Terri and Roger McGonigal of Blackburn, OK, Tammy and David Davis of Agra, OK, Hope and Brad Martineau of Grove, OK, and Thanya Stone of Grove, OK, plus 23 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 8 siblings, and two sons; Tony and Rocky Stone, two grandsons; Randall Russell and Hunter Martineau, her husband Leo Stone and life partner Ray Cox.
A visitation for family and friends will be held 5-7 PM, Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, OK. Services are scheduled for 2 PM, Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Butler Baptist Church. Betty will be laid to rest in Butler Cemetery.
