Bethany Lynn Newby

Bethany Lynn Newby, age 57, born August 3, 1968, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, passed away on April 9, 2026, in Jay, Oklahoma. In recent years, Bethany had resided in Monroe Manor nursing home due to health reasons.

She was a dedicated manager at KFC, where she was known for bringing both professionalism and warmth to her work. Bethany was a woman of many passions. She cherished quiet moments spent reading novels by Danielle Steel, whose stories brought her comfort and inspiration. She often enjoyed sitting outside with a cup of coffee alongside her faithful dog. Above all, Bethany treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, love, and affection.

She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Jordan Miles and his wife, Monica, and Craig Miles; her daughter, Makenzie Miles and her partner, Abraham Helfinstine; and her brothers, Billy Newby, Stephen Newby, and Josh Newby. She took immense pride and joy in her grandchildren, Clara Miles, Penelope Quinton, and Lucille Quinton.

Bethany was preceded in death by her parents, William and Carol (Barnhart) Newby.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Bethany’s life will be held on April 29, 2026, from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home located at 777 S. 16th Street, Jay, Oklahoma.
