Benjamin Lee Wolfe

February 9, 1941 — May 20, 2025

Afton

Benjamin Lee Wolfe passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, in Miami, Oklahoma, with his devoted wife, Julie, lovingly by his side.

Born on February 9, 1941, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Hershell Lee Wolfe and Martha Louise (Bond) Wolfe, Ben spent his youth on the family property at 41st and Memorial. There, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding horses with his sister, Julie. He attended Edison High School, graduating in 1959.

That September, Ben began his college education at the University of Oklahoma, where he met and married Julie Breitweiser, his beloved wife of 65 years. They started their life together in Tulsa, where Ben took night classes at the University of Tulsa while working during the day for Armarda. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tulsa and went on to build a successful career as an oil field landman. His professional journey led him to Texas, where he worked for Skelly Oil Company and later retired as Division Land Manager from Forest Oil Corporation in Midland.

In 1986, Ben and Julie moved to Shangri-La on Grand Lake, beginning a new chapter working together in real estate for Shangri-La Realty. Ben quickly became a beloved figure on Monkey Island, known for his warmth, humor, and generous spirit.

Ben had a zest for life that shone through in everything he did. He was an avid golfer, a skilled boat captain who loved spending time aboard his boat, the Margaritaville, and a gifted singer whose Frank Sinatra renditions could often be heard from the balcony of The Shebang. His infectious laughter and joyful presence lit up every room. He often said Grand Lake was “the good life,” and he considered himself blessed to have been able to “do it his way.”

Ben is survived by his loving wife, Julie Wolfe; his son, Bill Wolfe, and daughter-in-law, April Wolfe; his daughter, Cathy Daniels, and son-in-law, Dale Daniels; his sister, Julie Benson; his grandchildren, Walker Worrell, Cara Worrell, Lindsey Wolfe, Jennifer Wolfe, and William Wolfe, all of Fort Worth, Texas; and his great-granddaughters, Juliana and Ariana Cook, also of Fort Worth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hershell and Martha Wolfe.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Ben’s life will be held on May 30, 2025, at 3:30 PM at Rolston Cemetery in Monkey Island, Oklahoma.
