Obituary

Barbara Hazel (Rodrock) Casebolt of Grove went to be with her Lord and Saviour on August 4, 2026. She was 79 years old. Barbara was born July 27, 1947, in Iola, KS., the last of four children, to Whitford and Maxine (Thomas) Rodrock.

Barbara moved from Kansas to Nowata, OK., her senior year of high school and graduated there in 1965, and pretty much claimed Oklahoma as home. She worked at the Bliss Restaurant for several years and went to work for H.C. Price Co. in Bartlesville in 1968. She went to work on the Trans Alaska Pipeline for them in 1974. Barbara met her future husband there, Billy Gene Casebolt. They were married at the First Baptist Church in Fairbanks, AK., on December 16, 1976. They lived in AK. for about 13 years, returning to OK. in 1988 when they retired. They built their home south of Grove on the Honey Creek arm of Grand Lake, where they lived for 25 years. They enjoyed fishing and water skiing, traveling in their RV, and spending the winter months in Florida, Arizona, but mostly in S. Texas, where they eventually bought a park model in the RV park they had been going to for several years and sold their motorhome. They moved into Grove in 2013. Barbara also enjoyed crocheting, working on her computer, singing and playing music, and she loved her kitty cats.

Barbara accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour in July 2001 and immediately began writing poems and songs and, with help from a friend, set them to music. When she bought a Q-Chord, she was able to put her songs to music and learn many more songs. She loved to play and sing at her church, accompanied by Gene on his bass guitar, and participated in the jam sessions in S. Texas.

Barbara was a member of Zena Baptist Church, where she had been the song leader since July 2009.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, of the home; her parents; her brother, Donnie; her stepson, Chris; and her granddaughter, Stesha. She is survived by her sister, Beverly King, of Seneca, MO., and her brother, Darol Rodrock and his wife, Charlotte, of Overland Park, KS.; her stepdaughter, Sheila, and her husband, Mid Fortney; and her grandson, Conor McKee and his wife, Angel, all of Phoenix, AZ.; her granddaughter, Sarah Phelan, and her husband, John, of Collinsville, OK. Also surviving are her great-grandsons, Johnny Phelan III (Trip) and Oz and Arizona McKee, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation for Barbara will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026 at the Worley Luginbuel Chapel from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM where she will be laid to rest next her husband Gene after.
