Allis Jerrems, 96-year-old resident of Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on March 14, 2021 at home with her son at her side.
Allis was born on August 23, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Karry Kamber and Anna (Pratash) Kamber. She was united in marriage to Raymond Jerrems on February 1, 1943 in Chicago. Allis is preceded in death by her parents, husband; sister Christi Kamber- Schroff; and brothers George and Ken Kamber. She is survived by her two children David Jerrems of Grove, Oklahoma and Cynthia Jerrems of Tucson, Arizona.
Allis earned her master’s degree in education from Northeastern University & Roosevelt University in Chicago. She was employed teaching grades Kindergarten through high-school with the Chicago Board of Education and worked for them from 1972 until she retired in 1986.
Allis enjoyed knitting at Frannie Holstein’s Knit Shop in Grove, any and all handicrafts and playing mahjong at the Senior Center. She would try every new kitchen gadget, loved any adventure, her dogs, and her family.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Gove, OK. Burial will be at Fairmont – Willow Hills Memorial Park, Willow Springs, IL.
